April 1st, 2024 12:00 pm – 1:45 pm

What are your experiences navigating special education with your young person? Have you ever wanted to change the systems that provide services for our children and adults? Do you want to share your experiences with others? Maine Parent Federation is partnering with Boston University once again to conduct a research study with families across Maine.

Learn about the history of parent advocacy in legislation, tips on how to advocate for your family at this level, and connect with other families as you prepare yourself by learning skills to efficiently share your story. Participants will receive a captioned and edited testimonial video they can keep.

  • View 1 hour pre-recorded video of Part 1 of the training Session (prior to April 1, 2024)
  • Attend a 1.5-hour Zoom training AND provide parent testimonial videos as the product. (April 1, 2024 12:00 pm- 1:30 pm)
  • Complete 3 surveys (pre-training, post-training, and 6-month follow-up)

We anticipate this study would utilize about 3 hours of your time from start to finish, including the surveys, recorded and live-portions. Survey times will vary based on responses.

Please reach out to Zachary Rosetti, Phd., zsr@bu.edu, if you have any questions.
