Katie Beckett is a MaineCare option for children with serious health conditions. It is one of the many ways your child can get MaineCare. If your child meets the rules for this option, your child can get MaineCare full benefits. These are the same benefits that other children get.

Maine SHIP

"If you have Medicare insurance, or expect to have it soon, you may have questions or need help to understand your Medicare benefits. Trained health insurance counselors are available throughout Maine to provide you information about Medicare and other health insurance issues. You can also learn about programs in Maine that help lower the cost of prescription drugs and other out-of-pocket medical expenses. SHIP services are free, confidential and available to older people and people who have Medicare because of a disability. SHIP Counselors do not sell insurance or recommend policies."

Office of Aging & Disability Services (OADS) Assistance

"The OADS Aging Services and their partners are committed to providing consumers with assistance with navigating the Medicare. Whether a consumer needs assistance finding a Medicare Part D plan, a Medicare Supplement plan, money saving tips, legal assistance or reporting Medicare Fraud and Abuse, we can help! As part of the OADS Aging Services, Community Programs there are several programs that can help."

National Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

CHIP provides low-cost health coverage to children in families that earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid. In some states, CHIP covers pregnant women. Each state offers CHIP coverage, and works closely with its state Medicaid program.
